Start over

I found a stone which was lifeless
So I decided to bid it farewell
I said goodbye and sung it prayers and buried it in soil
So that it could rest in peace
And find a new life after mixing with the soil
And becoming a part of its heart
I could not be any more surprised
When I saw a tender green thread.
Emerging from the very spot where
I had dug and sunk the dead stone.
And then they told me that the burial had given it a new life.
Just as I had hoped but not in the same way
For they called it a seed and not a stone.
And I knew I had done a good deed either way.

Funny story, my friend asked me for tips to write a free verse poem. I hadn’t written one before. I ended up writing the most random thing that popped up in my head to show him how I would write one. And here it is. I ended up loving what I wrote and decided to share it with y’all cause it was perfect for this occassion.

Bye, bye 2021. Welcome 2022. Hope it goes well for all of us 🙂
